A number of Connecticut folks involved in using Community Indicators have attended the first two national meetings of the Community Indicators Consortium. In Reno, NV, in March 2004, we even had a CT Caucus breakfast one day. The second meeting was in Burlington, VT in December 2005.
This blog is being created in an initial effort to develop a Connecticut "Community of Practice" in all aspects of community indicators work in CT--their development, their use in planning and advocacy, their communication.
It was created by the team in New Haven that has developed DataHaven, a community indicators web site launched in 2003.
The first task is to identify who is out there doing this work today, starting with the folks who went to Reno in 2004, and start developing a communication network aimed at supporting and improving our practice and gaining more and better uses of community level indicators.
Please post comments on this idea below and indicate (a) if you plan on attending the Jacksonville meeting on March 7-9 and (b) if you are interested in joining this Connecticut-based community of practice
